Action is another word for the things we do.
What we say, how we act, our forward movement and motion.
All of our actions are in our control.
Inaction is also an action – it’s the result of making a choice not to act, not to speak, not to respond.
Actions are a result of our feelings.
Actions produce results.
Actions are the things we do, say, and think.
Feelings, as we discussed in an earlier post, are created by our thoughts. So, ultimately, your actions are created by the thoughts and subsequent feelings that you have about a circumstance.
Some of my actions are negative thought cycles.
I have learned to recognize these thought cycles, watch them and then make the choice to continue or stop them. This skill took practice and continues to evolve but it has made a huge difference in many aspects of my life, including and especially with my nutrition.
Action can seem abstract or very solid.
Every action or inaction you take in your life creates a result for you.
If you don’t like the results you are getting – you can choose to change your action. This will get you a different result.
Think about this as you go through your day today.
What actions are reinforcing your desired results (you can think of these as goals as well)? What actions are taking you further away from the present and future you desire?
